Picking up items causes frame drop and lag

After the update on 4/24 ive noticed every time i pick up items in the playa my frame rate drops and screen freezes for 1 second. In this time i get hit by enemies and has caused me to take more dmg than i normally would. It makes the game unplayable as now i have to avoid picking up items in later stages of the game so i dont freeze and die.
