one of the possible responses to his dialog appeared twice in a row and the 2nd time I picked it he froze and I had to "X" his dialog out to resume. It was the step where I was supposed to ask him who he is
Sorry you have encountered this issue, sometimes a dialogue box will have a X and you need to press it to continue, this should not stop you from progressing further with the dialogue. We will try to mitigate the appearance of the X button in the future.
