Right now, pets feel more like a hassle than a helpful addition to the game.
Apart from looking like enemies in the dungeons. The way they pick up items we drop can actually cause problems. When we drop items, it’s usually to make space in our inventory so we can mine, hack, or forage. But then the pet picks them right back up, filling our bag again—and when we try to collect rewards, they get lost because there’s no room in the bag left.
My improvement proposal to make pets more useful:
Help Collect Experience Points:
Let pets gather white experience points. This would give them a clear purpose and make them more valuable companions. Magnet relic could also affects the pets magnetism.
Give Pets a Small Inventory:
Equip pets with their own tiny bag, just 8 slots for example.
Picking Up Items:
Pets should only pick up items we drop from our own inventory, until the pet bag is full.
Don’t Pick Up Dropped Pet Items:
If we drop something from the pet’s bag, they should leave it alone. This way, we have full control over what stays and what goes.
These changes would make pets genuinely helpful and less frustrating.
